  • China's industrial profits dropped 2% in August from a year earlier, after rising 2.6% in July. Disruptions from strong storms last month also contributed.

  • The eurozone’s bailout fund has announced that it will stop issuing bonds governed by English law.

  • KPMG has shifted 800 staff and about 20 partners from its advisory division into its audit department in preparation for a possible forced break-up.

  • Jaguar Land Rover will halt production at British factories for a week in November to mitigate potential disruption from a no-deal Brexit.
